    Job Description

    Small non-profit dual diagnosis treatment program looking for a RN to perform initial nursing assessments at admission for adults with mental health and substance use disorders.

    Receive all medical/mental health complaints and determine if referral to a physician or psychiatrist for further treatment to include the type and quantity of medication prescribed.

    Nurse will continually monitor each patient to ensure that the physicians' prescribed treatment and medication regime is being followed.

    Nurse must establish ongoing contact with the patients psychiatrist to verify the type and quantity of drugs to be administered.

    Although patient self-administers the drugs the nurse must verify compliance to ensure that the patient remains stable through the treatment program.

    Coordination with case managers and other outside providers as needed.

    Perform physical health assessments, monitor, assess and document all patient's mental health symptoms, medication efficacy, potential side effects and/or need for a physician consult.

    Medication education/groups and review of dietary compliance with dietician on a weekly basis. TB testing.
