    As the primary driver of volunteer recruitment, the Manager of Volunteer Recruitment plays a critical role in advancing the agency's mission.

    In close collaboration with the Director of Community Engagement & Recruitment, this role develops and implements focused strategies to attract and retain high-priority volunteers, thereby enhancing the agency's volunteer community and boosting recruitment conversion rates.

    Through consideration of program needs and geographic considerations, the manager prioritizes alignment with the specific requests and preferences of youth participants seeking mentorship opportunities, while also supporting broader agency goals and priorities.

    The Manager of Volunteer Recruitment is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and timely communication throughout the volunteer experience, tailoring interactions to address volunteer motivations and foster engagement.

    Additionally, this position is primarily responsible for managing the team's Salesforce CRM database, conducting data analysis, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency within the recruitment process.

    Essential Job Functions

    Recruitment:
    Develop and implement targeted volunteer recruitment strategies.

    Develop and implement an annual strategy with the Director of Community Engagement & Recruitment to increase volunteer participation and enhance recruitment conversion rates, making adjustments as needed.

    Create and drive strategies that increase recruitment and representation of high priority volunteers, especially male-identying and Black/African American and Hispanic/Latinx communities

    Collaborate with agency and program leaders to assess volunteer and youth participant needs, considering factors like geography and demographics, to meet agency goals.

    Manage project coordination within the agency to recruit volunteers effectively.
    Adapt presentations for prospective volunteers regarding the mission, JEDI, volunteerism, and engagement opportunities.

    Oversee the Salesforce CRM database for volunteer enrollment, including data entry, tracking, messaging, reporting and workflow management, aiming for process improvements.

    Coordinate and analyze relevant data to inform programmatic and operational decision-making toward achieving goals and metrics.

    Analyze recruitment trends and track progress toward annual goals in partnership with the Director of Data & Impact and the Director of Community Engagement & Recruitment.

    Ensure smooth transitions and consistent service delivery by coordinating with other program teams.
    Develop and document agency policies, procedures, and practices in designated areas.

    Customer Service and Experience:
    Strategically enhancing engagement and participant interactions that prioritizes efficiency and high customer satisfaction.
    Improve agency efficiency, transparency, customer service, and communication to customers by leveraging Salesforce.
    Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop recruitment materials and external messaging, including comprehensive campaigns.

    Create and refresh branded content for various formats of information sessions, tailored to potential volunteer audiences, including community-based, faith-based, and corporate volunteers.

    Ensure agency messaging aligns with core values and commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, adapting to meet the needs of diverse volunteers, youth/families, and partners.


    Community Engagement:

    Build and sustain strong relationships that will support the agency's advancement of its mission and fulfillment of strategic plans and objectives.

    Collaborate with Community Engagement to foster relationships and partnerships with various entities such as corporate affinity groups, municipalities, faith-based institutions, community-based organizations, schools, universities/colleges, nonprofits, and other partners to boost youth and volunteer enrollment in line with annual goals.

    Set up and lead engagement activities within the community, such as tabling and other community events, to reach community members, recruit, and collect insights and stories.

    Manage data systems to track partnerships, volunteers, and ongoing youth activities, maintaining comprehensive records for regular reporting.

    Education and Experience
    3-5 years of relevant experience required. Preferably in recruitment, business, education, sales, and/or a related field. Nonprofit experience, Bachelor's degree and certifications are a plus.
    Experience building strong partnerships and relationships with people from diverse, including corporations and community groups/organizations.
    Experience with public speaking and presenting (via live/recorded, in-person and virtual methods).
    Experience working with Salesforce/Database CRM management and Microsoft Suite preferred.

    Must possess a valid driver's license and current auto insurance coverage or have reliable transportation for meeting work responsibilities and priorities.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Must be self-motivated and creative to develop new recruitment strategies.

    Physical Requirements
    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines and filing cabinets. This role must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

    Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities is the largest and oldest youth mentoring organization in the greater Twin Cities serving Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka and parts of Dakota and Washington counties.

    Each year, we match up to 2,600 youth (Littles) and their families with caring adults (Bigs) who volunteer as youth mentors.
