    Description

    Overview:

    At Nortal we are looking our next Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the networking infrastructure of our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network systems, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. This role requires a strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, as well as excellent problem-solving skills

    Responsibilities:

    1. Network Design and Implementation:

    Design and deploy scalable, secure, and reliable network infrastructure to meet the organization's requirements.

    Configure and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

    Implement network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs), to protect against threats and unauthorized access.

    Ensure high availability and reliability of network services by implementing redundancy and failover mechanisms.

    2. Network Monitoring and Optimization:

    Monitor network performance and analyze traffic patterns to identify and address potential bottlenecks or performance issues.

    Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization to improve network efficiency and responsiveness.

    Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical traffic and ensure optimal performance for applications.

    3. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:

    Diagnose and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner, utilizing various troubleshooting tools and techniques.

    Respond to network incidents and outages, troubleshoot root causes, and implement corrective actions to restore service quickly.

    Document troubleshooting procedures and maintain accurate records of network configurations and changes.

    4. Collaboration and Communication:

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and security professionals, to support business initiatives and projects.

    Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders, providing guidance and recommendations for network-related decisions.

    Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's network infrastructure.

    5. Documentation and Best Practices:

    Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Adhere to best practices and industry standards for network design, security, and performance optimization.

    Participate in regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

    Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP).

    Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, etc.

    Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios, SNMP).

    Solid understanding of network security principles and practices, including firewall configuration, VPNs, and encryption protocols.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues under pressure.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

    Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.

    Benefits

    • Compensation Range: $85,000 - $115,000 adjusted depending on the location .
