    ****Position Summary****

    Performs a wide variety of tasks and duties to include: the procurement of packaging raw materials, supplier relations, inventory monitoring, supplier contract creation, and various forms of team involvement that support our business. Solving packaging material problems as they arise, evaluate new packaging technology, and seek for ways to perform business tasks more efficiently.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Monitor the packaging SKU inventory of the factory on a daily basis and order materials on an as needed basis. Decisions concerning the amount of inventory to order and carry are determined, based on many factors, to include quantities needed, when needed, past history, lead times, manufacturers location, shipping location, seasonality, etc.

    MRP (factory system) calculations are performed by the SAP system each day of the week to arrive at quantities needed in packaging/production. Manual MRP calculations are done as needed.

    Maintain various files to support the purchasing process (spreadsheets, etc.).

    Establish, negotiate, and create annual contracts for packaging raw materials in the SAP Purchasing System.

    Create and modify purchase orders as needed according to contracts

    Responsibility to resolve any blocked or parked invoices in SAP Workflow.

    Lay the groundwork for the purchase of materials (new or existing), by sourcing of suppliers, work in conjunction with the Packaging Engineer and Product Commercialization for new material and/or supplier opportunities, and determine if suppliers are capable of handling our quantity requirements and meeting our pricing needs, etc.

    Monitors market and price conditions for resin and corrugated in NBS/North America Procurement memos, industry publications, websites, etc. and adjust pricing as needed based on the agreements established with packaging suppliers.

    Development and review annual cost projections for each packaging SKU for budgetary purposes. Analysis and evaluation of each market (resin, corrugated, etc.) is considered.

    Develop and manage cost savings projects and other projects as necessary.

    Conducts various processes through Intelex, such as CPARs, MOCs, etc.

    Participate and contribute to various NCE (Nestle Continuous Excellence) tasks and projects. Including, but not limited to: Departmental meetings, OMP development, DMAIC Projects, GSTD Projects, etc.

    Assist the Manager of Procurement in developing long and short term purchasing related goals for the factory. Annual line-item budgets for the various areas of budget authority.

    Monitor Month-End Inventory levels for packaging raw material components, looking for optimal levels. Determine basic PPV (purchase price variance) levels and monitor on a monthly basis.

    Establish and monitor various small contracts. Involvement as necessary in disputes, issues, etc. Contracts to include: Liquid nitrogen, waste, uniforms, and vending

    Act as a backup for the Manager of Procurement, including presence and participation at various meetings, such as WOR, MOR, etc.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelors degree preferred in business related field.

    2 years experience in research, commodities and/or procurement experience is required

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and Outlook. SAP knowledge is a plus.

    Experience in a food manufacturing plant a plus.
