Foundry Process Engineer - Hodges, SC
FTE, Permanent

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Materials, Metallurgical, or Manufacturing Engineering
Extensive experience in process engineering
Worked in a foundry environment previously.

Quality Management:

Extensive experience in quality management methods, tools, and techniques and the ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Collaborating:

Working knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Flexibility and Adaptability:

Working knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.

Problem Solving:

Working knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem-solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures, and Policies: Working knowledge of organizational standards, procedures, and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Extensive experience using concepts, principles, and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.

Role & Responsibilities:

Collaborate to improve foundry practices and processes using quality methodologies.
Provide support and troubleshooting to metallurgical lab and other departments on foundry processes.
Conduct defect analysis and deliver technical solutions to improve product quality and controls.
Support product reliability projects and customer satisfaction through support of the CPS (Caterpillar Production System), NPI (New Product Introduction), and CPI (Continuous Product Improvement) programs.
Research, develop, and audit foundry processes to ensure product quality improvements.
Monitor the process performance throughout foundry operations.
Developing routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
