    The EHS Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of employees, environmental compliance, and the overall well-being of the facility. This position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental programs to minimize risks associated with chemical manufacturing and handling. The EHS Manager is responsible for creating a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the organization. The EHS Manager is crucial for maintaining a safe and compliant operation. This role involves a combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and leadership to ensure the well-being of employees, protection of the environment, and the overall success of the facility. This position will be onsite and located in our Warrington, PA facility.

    Essential Functions:
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations related to chemical manufacturing. Stay up-to-date with evolving regulations and ensure the plant's operations are in alignment with current requirements.
    • Develop and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and incidents. Promote a safety-first culture among employees, contractors, and visitors.
    • Implement and oversee environmental management systems to minimize the environmental impact of the plant's activities. This includes waste management, emissions control, and spill response.
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards within the facility and implement measures to mitigate these risks.
    • Develop and deliver safety and environmental training programs for employees, ensuring that all personnel are well-informed and capable of adhering to safe work practices and environmental protocols.
    • Establish procedures for the timely and effective response to accidents, incidents, and emergencies. Lead investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety and environmental activities, including regulatory reports, permits, and incident reports.
    • Ensure the availability and proper maintenance of safety equipment, personal protective gear, and emergency response resources.
    • Conduct regular safety and environmental audits and inspections to identify areas of improvement and to track compliance with established standards.
    • Work closely with other departments to integrate safety and environmental considerations into the planning and execution of projects and day-to-day operations.
    • Stay current with best practices in EHS management and seek opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, procedures, and systems.
    • Position will not have direct reports.
    Qualifications

    Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Occupational Environmental Health and Safety or other applicable area

    Preferred: Graduate Degree (Master's or PhD)

    Certification(s):

    Relevant professional certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.

    Computer Skills Required:

    Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), EHS Insight-preferred, Paycom, SAP.

    Other qualifications:
    • Minimum of 5 years' in an EHS role with in a chemical manufacturing facility or related industries.
    • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to manage and motivate a team.
    • Experienced with chemical process safety, lab safety, safe handling of hazardous materials and employee health as it relates to chemical exposure.
    • Track record of establishing productive partnerships with all levels of employees and management, demonstrating ability to educate, gain understanding and participation, and communicate effectively
    • Risk Management Plan (RMP) experience
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present to all levels of the organization, in large and small groups
    • Specific experience in some or all of the following EHS compliance areas including, but not limited to, DOT, EPA, ATF, DEP, OSHA, GHS, FDA, RCRA, TSCA, FMCSA, ASME, etc.
    • Working knowledge of ISO
    • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience.
