    Summary:

    An employee in this class serves as a member of the emergency department.
    Employee will perform direct patient care under the direction of an emergency physician. Also perform
    administrative, clerical, and clinical duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and procedures of
    Central Carolina Hospital, Emergency Department

    Essential Functions:

    1. Safely operating an ambulance or other emergency vehicle
    2. Administering appropriate medical care to sick or injured persons
    3. Accurate and concise documentation of all care
    4. Participate in the upkeep of station equipment, vehicles and quarters
    5. Provide care in accordance with established emergency medical procedures and techniques as outlined in the patient care protocols for your specific certification level
    6. Tact, courtesy and firmness are required in dealing with sick or injured persons and with the general public
    7. Responds to emergency calls as a driver or attendant; performs necessary rescue work; and administers necessary emergency medical care
    8. Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and radio equipment
    9. Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high stress situations
    10. Ability to withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture
    11. Ability to work in low light situations and confined spaces
    12. Ability to be unaffected by loud noises and flashing lights
    13. Ability to bend, stoop, and crawl on uneven terrain
