*Overview*Check out the role overview below If you are confident you have got the right skills and experience, apply today.As the Nurse Manager, responsible for the day-to-day clinical and personnel operations of the nursing department.
You will work closely with the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing to improve the quality of patient care, and services provided by your team.
In the DON and ADON's absence, you will oversee the entire team ensuring quality customer service, and compliance with all federal, state and local rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures set by the facility.
*Duties*The Nurse Manager is heavily involved in the and training of staff. This includes a nursing staff including RN's, LPN's, C.M.A.'s, and C.N.A.'s. Additionally, you will directly supervise the staff by monitoring the distribution of medications, blood draws, and other elements of patient care. You may also have the responsibility of maintaining a budget, as well as supplies and inventory. The nurse manager is responsible for completing all of the pre-employment health screening including: Physicals, TB Tests, Employment drug screens, and administering any vaccines as needed.*Work Environment*The nurse manager will need to participate in direct patient care. And to monitor the work of your nursing staff, you may have to go on rounds with them, which will require that you be on your feet for many hours throughout the day. Your work will be done mostly in the facility and in an office environment.
*Qualifications & Experience*To secure employment as a Nursing Manager, an individual must be licensed and in good standing with Iowa Board of Nursing, or another state that complies with Multi-State Compact Agreement. Provisional licenses or disciplinary action must be disclosed.
Previous experience in long-term care is required. Experience as a nursing supervisor in any clinical setting is a requirement.
