- Processes, performs, and results all necessary testing for the Microbiology department during the evening shift.
- Reads and reports culture findings for most specimen types and performs workup per protocol
- Reports antimicrobial susceptibility testing according to CLSI and laboratory protocol
- Performs and documents all quality controls and preventative maintenance for all instrumentation
- Maintains competency assessments
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Assist in the preparation of CAP and Joint Commission inspections
- Reports to a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor
- Receives general supervision from Pathologists, Director, Lead Technologist and Medical Technologists
- Bachelor's degree and Medical Technology (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification with American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
- Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988.
- At least 1 years of MT/CLS background
- Registered with ASCP (or eligible for registry) as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent
- Position qualifies for $2.50/hr evening and $3.00/hr weekend shift differentials
