Job Summary Statement: This position supports Prepress operations and is considered a photo editing (retouching/color correction) position working in a fast-paced environment and is deadline oriented. The primary responsibility is to prepare digital camera images for print. Modify images/photos for desired color according to card design using Photoshop. This is a production-type job, NOT a design job. A portfolio or examples of work is requested.

The incumbent in this position works a regular weekly schedule in a physical office environment located in Irving, Texas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Using computer software (Photoshop), manipulate images according to design specifications for printing.
• Responsible for photo retouching and color correction.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Photoshop; ability to use pen is a plus
• Utilize masking, selections, adjustment layers, custom curves, and layer masks.
• Requires good eye for color with knowledge of RGB/CMYK.
• Ability to mass produce images; requires good organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrate skills in recognizing color, understanding retouching language.
• Attention to detail. High degree of accuracy with a secondary goal of speed.
• Reliable, good attendance. Some overtime may be required.
• Must be self-motivated and have a passion to learn; able to focus; desire to get the work done.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions relies on pre-established guidelines.
• Works under limited supervision while exercising minimal independent judgment.
• Ability to sit long periods behind a desk, performing tasks on the computer, using automated workflow system.

Equipment/Software, Education and Experience (minimum requirements):

• Proficiency in Mac Computers; high proficiency in Photoshop.
• Prefer college degree or training in Graphic Arts or related area.
• Comprehensive understanding of Photoshop is required; other production programs helpful.
• Knowledge of prepress operations is desired.
