The First Line Risk Manager plays a crucial role in the first line of defense, guiding and supporting the First Citizens Wealth Business in implementing risk programs, fostering a culture of risk awareness and responsibility within the Bank while aligning with the Company's Risk Appetite and Corporate Strategy.
This position involves driving problem-solving, prioritization, and risk mitigation in dynamic settings, requiring a profound understanding of business needs and priorities.
The ability to process, comprehend, and manage large volumes of information is essential.We are seeking an individual who is highly organized, adept at problem-solving, and excels in attention to detail.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-performance, fast-paced environment, collaborating with a top-tier team of wealth advisors and bankers.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include providing advice and guidance on business processes and procedures; supporting audits and regulatory examinations; identifying, documenting, and addressing risks related to internal and external issues in accordance with corporate methodologies; monitoring controls and conducting end-to-end testing; problem-solving and managing relationships; reporting on key indicators; change management; incident response; access entitlement; business continuity; and third-party risk management and administration; all in alignment with corporate methodologies.
Risk OversightContinuously monitoring and reporting key indicators and limits, ensuring timely escalation of breaches as per the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF).
Aiding in the enhancement and review of internal controls, ensuring the presence of control testing and aligning results with the Control Standards.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk, alongside Project Management or Internal/External Consulting OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk, paired with Project Management or Internal/External Consulting
Preferred Education:
Advanced DegreeSkill(s): Knowledge of risk techniques, practices, and control frameworks , Knowledge of various banking and government regulatory requirements and processes, Ability to work effectively with associates, senior management, and various committees, Knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to enterprise risk and operational risk
