Dr. Madhavan's research merges the fields of stem cell biology and neuroscience to understand the biology of aging and neurodegeneration, and to develop creative approaches to tackle age-related disorders such as Parkinson's disease (PD). Her NSF, MJ Fox Foundation, and NIH-supported research program incorporates rodent and human model systems, and a range of in vitro and in vivo behavioral, cellular, and molecular approaches, to address these goals. The program is accepting applications from highly motivated candidates to work on PD and Aging related projects utilizing human-induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neural cells and rodent models.
