    Opening Date: 05/02/2024Position Summary Scene Shop Supervisor The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and DanceFull-Time; 10-Month Renewable Professional Staff Position Primary ResponsibilitiesEach year, from July 15 to May 15: Manage the daily operations of the scene shopOversee and participate in the construction of scenery, stage rigging, sound engineering, electrics, scene painting, and weldingCoordinate or supervise the coordination of properties for all main-stage productionsAssist in planning and organizing projectsConduct routine general maintenance, provide upkeep of shop machinery, and provide inventory managementAssist with scenery installations and strikes of all conservatory productions Required Qualifications High School Diploma and 7 years of professional experience as a carpenter and/or stagehand OR Bachelor's Degree and significant professional experience as a carpenter and/or stagehandAbility to read construction drawings and interpret scene designers' worksDemonstrated rigging skills Demonstrated electrical and sound skillsExperience in propertiesExperience in various techniques of scene paintingExperience or desire to learn weldingAbility to follow proper usage of equipment and enforce safety standards Demonstrated supervisory skills Excellent communication skills with the ability and willingness to train students of various levels of proficiencyExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong collaboration skills, working with professional staff and facultyWillingness to work irregular and flexible hours Ability to adhere to strict production schedules and meet deadlines Required Information &
