- Benefit of being part of a large Social Work department led by Social Workers.
- Outpatient focused role to assess needs of those with blood cancer diagnosis as well as provide support and resources.
- Working in collaboration with bone marrow and stem cell transplant medical team
- Complete psychosocial assessments
- Supportive counseling in relation to adjustment of acute medical events and possible transplantation needs
- Experience in medical setting preferred but not required.
- Experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required
- Full time, 40 hours/1.0 FTE (benefits eligible)
- First shift
- 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday
- On call, 3-4 times a year

Responsible for addressing clinical, financial, and social concerns for patients. Provide leadership in the identification and acquisition of resources (local, state, and federal) for the support of families. Provide high level education and support for individuals and families for both clinical and financial needs. Serve as a resource person for patients and their families. Must be able to work effectively with diverse client groups and their families. Maintain statistics on completed work, client files, and office files including update of files and analysis of information for reporting purposes. Coordinate internal activities to resolve patient inquiries.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited university required.
•Minimum of two years of experience in social work or human services OR enrollment in an accredited Masters of Social Work program required.
•Knowledge of professional guidelines regarding confidentiality of client and staff information required.
•Competent in the use of a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word required.
•Ability to work effectively with diverse patient groups and their families required.
•Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing required.
•Must demonstrate personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation and energy, team orientation, and professionalism required.
•Ability to work independently required.
•Strong analytical skills required.
•Licensed as a social worker in the State of Nebraska required.
•Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications:.
•Master's Social Work degree preferred.
•Knowledge of health care services and resources preferred.
