    Main duties of the job

    We are seeking to appoint clinical Fellows to Medicine.

    The Clinical Fellow Program that we are offering is an exciting opportunity for trainees interested in pursuing a career in Orthopaedics. This opportunity will allow you to gain experience of clinical orthopaedics surgery at a CT level, and be involved in the orthopaedic on call Rota's.

    The fellowship is designed on a 60% Clinical (orthopaedics) and 40% non-clinical commitment with a full time on-call commitment contributing to the SHO nights rota. Successful candidates will spend their time in a teaching, quality improvement of simulation role during the non-clinical commitment period. Funding may be available for a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.

    You will be joining a cohesive and progressive team with a strong reputation for clinical excellence. We have an excellent reputation for training and we expect the successful post holders to develop and enhance their skills during their tenure. We are looking for dynamic individuals who have completed their Foundation Programme training and have experience of working in the NHS.

    Qualifications and experience

    Essential

  • GMC registration of adequate duration MBBS or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years full time hospital service Able to carry out the duties described in the job description
  • Desirable

  • BSc, BA or equivalent with grade 1 or 2:1 MRCS completed or part completed or recognised equivalent
  • Teaching of students, junior medical staff and nursing staff. Previous T&O experience Experience of working in an NHS hospital
  • Clinical skills

    Essential

  • Appropriate for level of experience ALS or ATLS
  • Evidence of participation in audit and Improvement projects locally
  • Desirable

  • Experience in the assessment and management of unselected medical emergencies at foundation level
