    Role Overview

    R-Zero seeks a motivated Senior Accountant to join our small, nimble finance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of our dynamic and high-potential company. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to developing innovative solutions that drive our mission forward.

    This is a hybrid work-location position, with a minimum of one to two days per week spent in our San Francisco and Menlo Park offices.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
    • Assist in the preparation of various financial statements, such as balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
    • Oversee the accounts receivable processes, managing tasks including invoice processing, collections, and revenue recognition
    • Oversee accounts payable functions, including processing vendor invoices, managing vendor payments, and ensuring timely issuance of 1099 forms
    • Ensure compliance with state and local regulations while overseeing payroll and benefits administration.
    • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting process, offering insights and suggestions to improve financial performance
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and bolster internal controls
    • Assist in annual financial statement audit, preparing audit schedules & other audit requests, and interacting directly with external audit staff
    • Utilize financial software systems (e.g., Netsuite, Stripe, , Rippling/Deel, Salesforce) and tools (e.g., Excel) proficiently to manage financial data and reporting tasks efficiently
    • Stay current on pertinent accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive ongoing improvement initiatives
    Qualifications
    • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Strong background in accounting, coupled with prior audit experience and/or a demonstrated interest in technology or startup environments
    • Hold a CPA credential or be actively pursuing CPA certification
    • Have strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations; specifically with ASC 606
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and prior experience with financial software systems such as Netsuite
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities
    • Detail-oriented with a firm commitment to accuracy and integrity
    The salary range for this position will vary based on candidate level, experience, and location. The base salary for this position contemplates a range of $110,000 - $140,000. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and a background check is required upon employment.
