    Job Description

    You will be the Design Engineer Sr Engineering Design Support, Integrated Fighter Group. IFG Design Support group is part of the Structures Development organization under Engineering & Technology.

    Our tasks vary from incorporating outstanding ECNs, checking, and verifying engineering drawings, which include Structures, Systems Installation, Harness, Wire Installation, AEI, Supplier SCD, Standards, etc.

    Our works involve almost everything from nose to tail and from wing tip to wing tip. We check drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers
    What You Will Be Doing

    Experienced Engineering Checker to evaluate and investigate pertinent design factors on F-16 retrofit and production engineering design, 3-D models and drawings including all related design data.

    Identify design compatibility errors and verify all features are of one interpretation, complete and adequate for downstream users. Ensure the engineering design, models/drawings and related data meet all contractual, company, and Program requirements.

    Utilize working knowledge and application experience of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing based on ASME Y14.5 along with ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices.

    Utilize working knowledge and application experience on a computer aided design system with 3D experience.

    Successful candidate must be able to work in a model centric environment and should be efficient with PC operations and MS Office Suite.

    Very detail oriented with good verbal and written communication skills.

    Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment where critical and tight schedules are common and must be met with quality results.

    The designer is responsible for their individual tasks but an important part of the job is to interface with other designers/teams.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering.
    • CATIA experience
    • Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 Drawings, and Y14.5 GD&T, prior drawing and model checking, design, and engineering change process experience.

    • Successful candidate must be able to work in a model centric environment and should be efficient with PC operations and MS Office Suite.

    • Experience working in a fastpaced team environment where critical and tight schedules are common and must be met with quality results.

    Desired skills

    • CATIA V5
    • MPRSII and EDFS system experience.
    • Experience with retrofit/service action and multiple type/version effectivities.
    • Two plus years of experience in Engineering Checking.
    • Very detail oriented with good verbal and written communication skills.

    Remote Telework:

    The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.


    Work Schedule Information

    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.


    Colorado Pay Statement

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $78,500 - $150,400 .

    (Washington state applicants only)

    Non-represented full-time employees:

    accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

    Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

    PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

    This position is incentive plan eligible.


    Premium Pay Statement

    Pay Rate:


    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $90,200 - $170,000.
