Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Optical Fabrication Manager to provide the leadership, planning, organization, direction, coordination and control to meet the technical financial and delivery objectives of the Fabrication Department.The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in engineering or equivalent experience 10+ years experience in optical fabrication manufacturing or equivalent experience. Experience as a supervisor is preferred fluency English proficiency with various optical metrology equipment thorough understanding of all relevant national international optical specifications MIL specs ISO ANSI DIN3140 demonstrated experience with statistical process control SPC concepts methods extensive experience polishing infrared materials including Germanium Silicon Zinc Selenide Gallium Arsenide other IR crystalline hard soft materials ability problem solve issues associated manufacture precision optics ability set up operate maintain fabrication equipment supervision direction fluency operation following metrology equipment Fizeau interferometer auto collimators calipers micrometers surface profilometers ability perform working conditions able stand long periods time exposure chemicals solvents oils use PPE authority hire fire change compensation duties promote employees direct reporting relationship provided actions fall established company policy budget constraints make purchases equipment material operating supplies professional services approved company budget develop implement department operating policies procedures consistent established company policies procedures manage daily operating activities all optical fabrication processes resource allocation job scheduling personnel matters direct work activity subordinates follow Reynard Quality Management System QMS responsibilities design cost effective high yielding process from raw material finished component daily status review open Sales Orders best estimate % complete Estimated Time Completion ETC plan coordinate FAB department resources efficiently meet needs expectations schedules Reynard Customers develop proper inventory re-order levels selected FAB department supplies materials specify submit RFQ POs for materials supplies required timely delivery product estimate prepare annual FAB Department Capital Budget establish monitor career development advancement subordinates train junior technicians verify technical accuracy completeness departmental routers work Sales department resolve issues as required operate maintain conventional polishing spindles CP polishers ensure all product properly inspected meets IP requirements prior delivery next manufacturing step establish maintain Quality Performance Standards FAB department personnel provide hands-on verbal technical assistance Optical Technicians efficient manufacture compliant product work other department managers efficiently resolve resource allocation issues attend Production Meeting provide status support as required participate new job opportunity BOE meetings have sufficient contact Sales personnel clearly ascertain support manage Customer needs expectations institute staff meetings ensure FAB R&D new materials processes assume other responsibilities assigned SupervisorManager benefits 401k 401k matching dental insurance health insurance life insurance paid time off vision insurance
