Job description
The Engineering Co-op assists the engineering staff engaged in the development of technical solutions for new products and improvements to existing products by performing tests, documenting, and interpreting results.This co-op is for an individual who has completed their freshman or sophomore undergraduate year and is 100% onsite in our Newbury, OH plant. The hours are Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week. The successful candidate would ideally work at least three (3) semesters at Kinetico. The co-op will begin Fall 2024. A pay increase for each subsequent semester returned is available.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Assembles and dissembles test units, adheres to and monitors testing protocols, measures parts, and documents results.
- Performs special projects within scope of engineering capability related to product development initiatives.
- Documents design specifications using 3D CAD models and tolerance drawings.
- Validates final designs through laboratory testing to meet product, quality, and safety specifications.
- Analyzes and presents results of experimentation to cross functional teams.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Currently working towards Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and desire to collaborate with others and work in a cross functional team setting.
- Interest in component and system design, preferably for consumer products.
- Good mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach.
- Experience with design processes and tools such as engineering calculations, stack-up analysis, DFMEA, DFM; CAD preferred.
