    Job Description

    Vanir is seeking a Project Director with proven leadership quality and strongcommunication skill who can build on our continued success in the justicemarket.

    To date, Vanir has managed more than 270 justice projects valued atover $5 billion, including new and renovated courthouses, policefacilities, jails, prisons, juvenile detention centers, and emergencyoperations facilities.

    Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of a successful Project Director will focus onleadership, estimating, contract negotiation, scheduling, costmanagement and forecasting, client relations, design coordination,planning, and change management.

    The Project Director is responsible forensuring client satisfaction with our services on assigned projects.
    This position will collaborate with senior managers, estimators,schedulers and other construction professionals across Vanir's divisions.
    This position will report to the Area Manager.

    The Project Director is responsible for on-site project operations andmanagement, including the ability to:Act in an advisory role assisting the client with initiating and setting goalsfor programs based on the strategic objectivesProvide leads on new work from existing clientsIdentify new marketing opportunities and develops leads for new projectsAssist in proposal preparation and coordinating interviewsRepresent Vanir or client in public forums and meetingsNegotiate and monitor fee consumption and actual contribution versus budgetEnsure Project Management Plan and Procedures Manuals are developed inaccordance with contract requirementsSupervise project team and ensures quality services consistent with Vanirprocedures, client goals, and contract responsibilities on areas ofsafety, performance, project staff, and equipmentFunction as, or assigns, the Facility Administrator role in Vanir'sInjury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and performs all duties.

    Worksclosely with Vanir Director of Health, Risk and Safety to resolve safetyconcerns or questions

    Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, orArchitecture is required15+ years of recent experience providing project and program managementservices on large justice and jail projects in excess of $500 million isrequiredA strong technical and practical background in justice, jail, and/ordetention facility construction projectsExcellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to work well ina team environment is criticalKnowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, projectcontrols/scheduling, documentation, engineering/constructionprinciples, techniques, materials, applications, and practicesExperience in alternative project delivery methods including Design-Build andProgressive Design-BuildKnowledge in Marketing and Business Development Lead identification and followup; proposal and interview preparationKnowledge of delivery methods, construction and consultant contracts andselection/ procurement process, contract administration, budgeting,estimating and cost control, CPM scheduling and schedule management, andsafetyKnowledge in employee development, including coaching, mentoring,supervisory and training techniquesCertificates or LicensesCMAA - Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) or Certified ConstructionManager (CCM) is preferredDBIA - Des gn Build Associate, or Professional certification is preferredRegistered Architect or Professional Engineer is preferredOffered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatoryfactors, including education, qualifications, experience, andgeographic location.
