Job summary
The School Custodian performs general cleaning duties in designated areas at the campus of UCO in Edmond OK.Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities. Performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors shampooing rugs washing walls and glass and removing rubbish. Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients coworkers shift coordinators supervisors managers etc Complies with all safety security compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company Clients regulatory authorities Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
Responsibilities
Cleans building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming them Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors fixtures Sometimes using ladders dusts washes furniture walls machines equipment cleans ceilings dusts polishes light fixtures Washes replaces blinds Moves cabinets boxes furniture crates equipment clean areas either manually hand trucks May remove stains surfaces rugs drapes walls floors using chemicals spot cleaning treatment May also sweep walks rake leaves cut grass remove snow perform incidental seasonal tasks Mixes water detergents acids containers prepare cleaning solutions according specifications Cleans vacuums carpeted areas application spot cleaning treatment Gathers empties trash Wipes cleans tabletops chairs equipment food areas Cleans polishes furniture fixtures Services restrooms periodically overhead vents dusts blinds polishes wood furniture Cleans interior partition glass windows glass partitions mirrors soapy water other cleaners sponges squeegees Sprays insecticides fumigants prevent insect rodent infestation Sets arranges removes decorations tables chairs ladders scaffolding facilities events banquets meetings Must keep janitors closet neat orderly maintain equipment good working order Requisitions supplies needed clean maintenance duties Monitors building security safety performing locking doors hours checking electrical appliance hazards created Miscellaneous duties assignedJob description
