    Who you are:

    This position acts primarily in a sales function, assisting both residential and commercial customers with any retaining wall related questions, from both the office and at job sites. This position will be driving sales from the initial contact until the shipment is processed and ready for delivery.

    • Preferably demonstrated experience in the construction industry.
    • Excellent analytic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Work in a team environment as well as alone.
    • Possess strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
    • Be flexible and adaptable to change.
    • Detail oriented with the ability to interpret instructions and to provide clear direction.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be fluent in Microsoft applications i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Office 365 (advanced Excel and computer operating skills are essential).
    • Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced and extremely busy work environment.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the company's retaining wall products, and general understanding of all products and services. Carroll Concrete strives to be our customers' "on-stop-solution".
    • Manage and develop new business as well as maintain relationships with current customers.
    • Review plans and specifications and make site visits as necessary to prepare quotes and takeoffs on projects. Follow established protocol when preparing a project for engineering, quoting, delivery and payment. When a unique situation arises that requires special attention, work closely with immediate supervisor to resolve.
    • As each of the areas of sales, operations and credit rely heavily on one another, thorough and consistent communication with each department is essential to ensure a positive experience for the customer while limiting our financial liability.

    Additional Job Duties:

    • Share sales leads with team members who sell other Carroll product lines.
    • Travels throughout territory to conduct presentations to engineers and potential clients and to attend tradeshows.
    • Prepare expense reports as necessary for work related expenses to submit to supervisor for approval, then to accounts payable.

    Experience and Requirements:

    • 3-5 years' experience is a construction related sales role.
    • Must have a valid driver license and insurable within tolerable insurable limits (at Carroll Concrete's discretion).
    • Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner
    • Must operate company vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner
    • Work safely, wear proper personal protective equipment as necessary
    • Notify manager of any work-related injuries or accidents immediately
    • Contact supervisor before shift begins of any need to be out of work
    • Other duties and tasks as assigned or as necessary
    • Must be able to lift and/or maneuver 50 lbs. as required.
    • Must be able to sit/drive and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours as necessary. Some evening and weekend work required.
