Description
The Senior Estimator will support and work with preconstruction and Business Development staff in the review of project plans, requirements and specifications.
6-8yrs. of curtainwall, storefront, window wall estimating
Previous experience estimating projects in the $2-$15 million range
Experience with the Florida Building Code sectors of the construction industry
Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design
Ability to use CAD a plus
Role and Responsibilities
Lead role in project estimating
Analyze drawings and specifications
Understand contractual terms and conditions
Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner
Provide clear detailed quantity take offs
Organize vendor quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents
Complete budgeting and scheduling for projects in order to determine construction duration, involves meeting with project manager/design team to confirm duration
Maintain relationships with sub-contractors, architects, and general contractors
Ensure project manager is provided with proper documentation related to the project
Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing
Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress
Attend progress meetings with the design team and project manager during the design phase to assist in any budget adjustments required on a project-by-project basis
Prepare conceptual budgets based on interface with architects/design team
Participate in negotiating construction cost estimates with other parties
