    Make an Impact as the Assistant Director of Residential Treatment

    The NewPath Child & Family Solutions Assistant Director of Residential Treatment is responsible for providing supervision and oversight of the development, coordination, training, and implementation of treatment services and fidelity to the Residential Intervention Services Program. The Assistant Director is clinically responsible for multiple levels of clinical services, including therapy, case management, mental health day treatment, family engagement, interns, and crisis interventions and planning. The Assistant Director should ensure all clinical staff are delivering state of the art, evidenced based behavioral and therapeutic services. The Assistant Director maintains the collaboration of clinical services with all other services in the residential program to assure positive outcomes for the residents and works closely with the Director of Residential and Assistant Director of Operations.

    Location: This is a full-time position located at our NewPath East Campus, working with our Residential Interventions Program.

    What You Will Be Doing

    • Direct the day-to-day clinical operations of Residential Interventions Services Program to continuously evaluate the status of clients and do appropriate planning and coordination of treatment activities to ensure immediate attention to their changing needs.
    • Direct all treatment and clinical interventions of the program; oversee the development and coordination of assessments and treatment planning.
    • Direct and coordinate the admission process for the residential program; ensuring the program maintains a census that balance safety and financial sustainability; and ensuring admissions are available to families 24 hours/day 7 days/week.
    • Direct and coordinate the discharge and transitions process for the residential program; ensuring the program meets best practice transitions for clients to their next step after the program.
    • Ensuring and creating/maintaining family engagement, finding, and advocacy interventions, policies, and procedures are being met to promote family contact, support, and engagement for youth in the residential program.
    • Lead regularly scheduled case meetings, weekly communication meetings, and other staff meetings.
    • Acts as the clinical leader and model for trauma-informed clinical practices in the program.
    • Foster a setting for clinical staff development by providing clinical supervision, modeling, training, and coaching to assigned clinical staff and interns.
    • Lead and participate in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, and orientation and performance supervision for clinical staff according to work rules, regulations, and policies.
    • Monitor attainment of goals and effectiveness of services and ensure that program goals are reached.
    • Assure that clinical staff and interns operate within their scope of expertise and practice.
    • Participate in the preparation of reports and records related to the activities and accomplishments of the program.
    • Conduct chart audits and supervision to ensure all client record keeping is in compliance with agency, city, state, and federal requirements.
    • Supervise on agency policies, Medicaid, and other third-party payment requirements; train staff on medical record requirements; regularly review client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes written by the staff; and work closely with Quality Improvement.

    What You Bring To The Table

    • Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Social Work, Psychology, Education, etc.) and have five years' experience in the mental health field.
    • Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in related field and 5 years' experience in a residential mental health position with some supervisory experience.
    • Understanding of various mental health diagnoses.
    • Fluency in various intervention modalities, including TCI.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Good analytical, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situation.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Have a valid driver's license and good driving record with no more than 5 points and current automobile insurance.
    • A clean criminal background check.
