    Description

    Our client, a highly successful FinTech scale-up, is transforming the financial and investment landscape and seeks a dynamic VP of Engineering to support and drive their ambitious growth plans. Operating outside of traditional banking systems, you will lead a team of talented software engineers responsible for delivering complex full lifecycle projects.

    As the VP of Engineering, you will report directly to the CTO, and must be well-versed in the latest cutting-edge technology trends to define and implement the strategic development roadmap into production. You will build innovative financial products utilizing modern front-end and back-end technologies, taking ownership for quality and optimization, with a focus and clarity for executing pragmatic solutions.

    While you are a highly technical and passionate engineer, you are also a motivated strategic thinker with a passion for collaboration and delivery in a fast-paced, start-up environment. You will take ownership of the delivery of the projects, ensure high-quality standards, and drive innovation in all aspects of the engineering process.

    What you'll do:

    • Define and maintain high standards for technical execution and provide guidance and support to empower teams to achieve them.
    • Recruit exceptional engineers and managers who are passionate about delivering high-quality products and services.
    • Mentor and coach team leads to become more effective leaders and provide opportunities for professional growth.
    • Foster a strong engineering culture and implement processes that promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance metrics to ensure the engineering team is meeting its goals and objectives.
    • Work with team leads to set the technology strategy and communicate it effectively to the organization.
    • Develop and enforce standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are consistently met.
    • Lead by example and promote a culture focused on user impact and product delivery.
    • Foster leadership within the organization to grow the culture and empower teams to take ownership of their work.
    • Cultivate an environment of curiosity and innovation, and encourage new ideas and approaches to make a meaningful impact.

    What you'll bring:

    • Successful experience working with stakeholders to create engineering strategies and roadmaps.
    • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling rapidly-growing teams and user bases.
    • Strong expertise in modern engineering practices and leading high-performing teams.
    • Extensive experience in building and designing scalable and resilient systems.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to balance technical and product knowledge.
    • The ability to create an inspiring team environment that encourages creativity, ownership, and collaboration.
    • Proven ability to implement and champion best practices in engineering processes and methodologies.
    • Previous experience in FinTech/Payment is a plus.
