    THE POSITION

    Do you have unemployment compensation (UC) and supervisory knowledge and experience? If so, the Department of Labor and Industry wants to hear from you. As an Unemployment Compensation Operations Manager 2, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of both employer and claimant services. The duties of the position involve the planning, organizing, and managing of all unemployment compensation operations and activities for both sections. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, who is self-motivated, and wants to make a difference

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance of accurate wage information for employees of Pennsylvania covered employers, the gathering and maintenance of wages earned by federal government and military employees, as well as the wages of employees working in other states for the purpose of determining the financial eligibility of those persons applying for UC benefits in Pennsylvania. Work also includes the payment of accurate weekly benefits to claimants and the collection and deposit of overpayment monies in the state treasury. Some of the special services include child support intercept and Interstate billing.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:
    • Full-time employment
    • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Working hours may change based on operational needs.
    • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the required probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
    • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
    • One year as an Unemployment Compensation Operations Manager 1; or
    • Three years of experience in varied office management, supervisory or technical work which involved operations requiring a working knowledge acquired through continuous application of the provisions of the Unemployment Compensation Law; and a bachelor's degree; or
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    • This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
