    Description
    Overview


    Responsible for overall operations of the Expressive Therapies Department at HRC that offers group and individual expressive therapy services and consultations on LTCH of Roslindale/Dedham Health Care Centers.

    Establishes goals and objectives for the department, facilitates dance, drama, or expressive arts therapy sessions, collaborates with other managers in developing and integrating services to all patient care areas, oversees Internship and Practicum Programs at HRC-Boston and NewBridge.


    This position will work 3 days a week out of HRC in Roslindale and 2 days a week out of NewBridge on the Charles in Dedham.

    $80,000.00-$85,000.00

    Responsibilities


    • Responsibilities:
    • Continually evaluate the scope of services and quality of department, the utilization of staff, justifying staffing and appropriate coverage to achieve the clinical/financial goals of the department.
    • Assume responsibilities as clinical instructor for the coordination, supervision and evaluation of Expressive therapy student placements.
    • Assess programming needs for department; review and reassess program format, tools and techniques on a continuing basis to maintain high quality progressive psychosocial care to residents.
    • Recommend, establish and maintain standards for quality and quantity of clinical services including written standards, policies and procedures and maintain an ongoing CQI/QA program.
    • Provide direct patient care, both in groups and one-on-one sessions. Work collaboratively with clinical teams to communicate on treatment outcome and to report health status changes.
    • Demonstrate commitment to work collaboratively and maintain effective communication with other health team members to facilitate and promote coordination of patient care to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Participate in patient care and designated administrative meetings and committees.
    • Perform other related duties as required or as responsibilities necessitate.
    Required Qualifications


    • Broad background in the field of Expressive Therapy/Psychotherapy.
    • Master degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Psychology and Expressive Therapies (Dance/Movement Therapy, Drama Therapy, or Expressive Arts Therapy)
    • Eligible to pursue Massachusetts licensure in mental health counseling. Active Mental Health Counselor licensure is preferred
    • Minimum of 2 years of management/supervisory experience within hospital/rehabilitation setting
    • Demonstrated excellent management ability, excellent interpersonal skills and program development experience
    • Strong written and communication skills
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances, which may include exposure to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds
    • Push wheel chairs on flat surface
    • Gloves and masks worn occasionally
    • Standing, walking and sitting
    • Some reaching, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling and crouching
    • Excellent ability to communicate verbally
    • Good hearing and vision
    • Sufficient alertness and awareness for the safety of others
