    Data Engineering (DE) is responsible for shaping and executing the data agenda for the firm to power data as a competitive advantage and source of innovation. With a focus on mining big data that enters markets around the world each day, the DIO is building enterprise-level solutions to deliver game-changing business insights.

    The DE Product Management team is composed of driven, talented and passionate strategists and designers who work closely with the business, engineers, and user experience designers to change the expectations of the user base and deliver intelligent data solutions, workflows and exciting, impactful analytics. At the core, Product Management drives creativity, innovation and productivity by acting as the intersection of business processes, data and technology. We are an equally technical and business savvy, top-performing team. Product Engineers have tremendous responsibility in forming the strategic vision for digital and data products, understanding user needs and behavior, and working with teams across the firm to execute on product plans. Our Product Engineers are entrepreneurially-minded, working to solve complex business, technical, and design challenges to leverage Goldman Sachs thought leadership and help drive transactions and business relationships.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

    • Contribute to the DE product vision by collaborating with functional owners and engineering leads. Influence the roadmap based on forming a detailed understanding of the business processes, data model and overall business strategy.
    • Prioritize roadmap items and obtain buy-in across many stakeholder groups based on business benefit, effort/time to implement and measure adoption and impact via KPIs.
    • Define requirements, workflows, data needs and provide subject matter expertise to rationalize user requests and challenge the norm to take the business to the next level.
    • Collaborate within an energetic, integrated team of engineering and user experience talent in an agile development model to continuously deliver transformative capabilities.
    • Partner with DE and other engineering teams on important related projects including CRM, mobility, telephony and a firm-wide client data strategy.
    • Lead training and rollout of capabilities to users in a white glove approach to drive adoption and obtain feedback. Analyze usage and data insights to further drive adoption and generate KPI metrics.
    • Keep abreast with industry trends and competitors to identify and respond to new opportunities; become a go-to expert in the data space.

    Basic Qualifications

    • BS in a technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
    • 5-7 years of commercial experience working within technology, data or product management.
    • Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiating skills to foster collaborative relationships across business and technology teams and at all levels.
    • Superior organizational, writing, presentation, data modeling and analytical skills.
    • Independent thinker and self-starter with proven ability to execute in complex, sophisticated environments.
    • Background in financial markets.
    • Experience working closely with engineering and user experience teams.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, exciting, high energy environment.
    • Strong cross-functional and team-building skills with an ability to build positive and productive working relationships and foster creativity, innovation, and integrity within and across teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Bachelors/Masters/MBA in related fields
    • 2 to 4 years of related experience
