    Decatur Member Assistant - CEFCU

    CEFCU member service team members are critical to the success of the credit union. They provide a professional, knowledgeable, and caring experience when members contact us. We are looking for individuals who are personable, articulate, and positive to add to our already awesome team

    Processes teller transactions via the Encore' Teller System. Determines negotiability and validity of items received for deposit. Places account holds as needed. Evaluates member needs. Completes the appropriate forms and documents to comply with member requests. Cross-sells the appropriate CEFCU/CEFCU Investment Services products and services to meet member needs. Learns CML strategies. Identifies and acts on CML opportunities. Identifies and makes referrals and up sales. Handles a variety of member questions and complaints. Identifies, evaluates, and resolves account problems. Issues cashier's checks and money orders. Sells MasterCard Gift Cards. Processes Visa/MasterCard advances. Completes check reorder forms and enters requests through on-line Harland Clarke System. Issues temporary counter checks as needed. Processes member's Bank Wire, Western Union, and Foreign Currency requests. Identifies and follows OFAC procedures. Balances currency, coin, and checks for individual cash drawer. Observes cash drawer limits and processes cash drawer buys and sells as appropriate. Balances office on-us checks, money orders, cashier's checks and Visa/MasterCard advances. Processes and records Business Account deposits and balances business log daily. Replaces other office personnel as needed.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
    Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registration (NMLS) to comply with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act). Successful completion of the formal Member Assistant training module. High school diploma or equivalent.

    PREFERRED SKILLS
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven sales skills. Ability to handle heavy business volume with accuracy. Ability to apply initiative and sound judgment. Ability to maintain awareness of office/lobby areas and to identify non-negotiable items and suspicious/fraudulent activity. Ability to perform basic keyboarding, adding machine, and math skills. Individual must be willing to actively participate in helping achieve office objectives. Applicable college education and/or commensurate experience.

    Monday through Thursday 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.
    Friday 8:45 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.
    Saturday 8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registration (NMLS) to comply with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).
    • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of all Federal and State Regulations governing Financial Institutions through the successful completion of the formal Member Assistant Training module, including required continuing education related to the Bank Secrecy Act, Identity Theft - Red Flags, Elderly Abuse/Financial Exploitation and robbery procedures.
    • Acquire and maintain proficient operation and knowledge in CEFCU mainframe applications and third party systems.
    • Basic operation and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Ability to balance Cashier's Checks and Money Orders, and other receptionist duties (telephone etiquette, brochure and rate updates, etc.)
    • Cross-trained as receptionist within one year, if applicable.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Proven record of relationship building, sales and servicing skills through current applicable department metrics.
    • Thorough knowledge of CEFCU products and services.
    • Applicable college courses and/or commensurate experience.
