    Job Summary:

    The Process Engineer makes sure that the manufacturing process is working efficiently and effectively to reduce waste in order to deliver a quality product to the customer. This position will work closely with operators to identify and implement appropriate process improvements. Responsible for coordination and hands on involvement in quality, waste reduction, process improvements, new product trials, and so on. Will provide troubleshooting and technical expertise in manufacturing issues, non-conforming products, process start-ups, and equipment modification.

    Job Duties:

    • Identify, investigate, and assist with waste reduction implementations.
    • Provide support to solve quality issues (internal and external).
    • Monitor and evaluate new or modified processes to ensure high quality and productivity.
    • Provide troubleshooting assistance in resolving process issues.
    • Lead various improvement projects to minimize cost in the facility.
    • Investigate and resolve daily manufacturing and quality issues.
    • Coordinate process start-up on new or modified equipment.
    • Perform statistical analysis of process capabilities.
    • Provide support to the department for improving product quality.
    • Perform evaluations on substitute and new materials changes to meet customer expectations.
    • Follow EHS directives and participate in ownership of safety processes and guidelines.
    • Train operators and update work instruction when process is modified.
    • May be required to visit other facilities or customers, as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field.
    • 3+ years of related experience in manufacturing engineering.
    • Demonstrated experience in process improvement.
    • Functional experience with ISO 9001 and relevant audits.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate with operators, supervisors, managers, vendors, and customers to resolve issues.
    • Knowledge of plastic packaging processes is highly preferred (blow molding, converting, slitting, printing, lamination).
    • Food and Safety experience is desired (knowledge of AIB, HACCP).
