    Job Description
    Northern Staffing Services of Petoskey, Michigan, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staffing Specialist to join our team. This is a front-facing role responsible for recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and supporting employees and clients throughout the hiring process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a passion for helping individuals find meaningful employment while supporting client workforce needs.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Recruit, source, and screen candidates through various platforms and outreach methods
    • Conduct phone screens and in-person interviews
    • SChedule candidate appointments and coordinate client interviews
    • Greet and assist employees, applicants, and clients in a professional manner
    • Perform data entry and maintain candidate and client records
    • Facilitate onboarding processes, including completion of hiring documentation
    • Administer drug screenings and coordinate criminal background checks
    • Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, front desk environment
    • Answer and manage incoming phone calls, emails and walk-in inquiries
    • Collaborate with team members to meet hiring goals and client expectations
    • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and employment regulations
    • Support employee relations by addressing general questions and concerns
    • Assists with employee performance management and disciplinary processes
    Qualifications & Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
    • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively
    • Dependable, professional, and customer-service oriented
    • Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with criminal histories or employment barriers
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
    • Proficiency with computers, data entry, and Microsofy Office or applicant tracking systems
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Previous experience in staffing, recruiting, Human Resources or customer service
    • Knowledge of onboarding procedures, employment documentation, and compliance practices
    • Experience with applicant tracking systems
    • Familiarity with employment laws, background screening procedures, and workplace safety standards
