    Two (2) full-time (40 hours/week) positions as a Community Behavioral Outreach Worker/Promotor for our Family Resource Center (FRC) in Modesto. One position will be designated to North Modesto and the other will be designated to South Modesto. The Family Resource Center's mission is to provide and coordinate services through creative partnerships that enhance health, education and well-being for all in Stanislaus County. A Promotor focuses on promoting community-based health education and prevention in underserved communities. The Promotor serves as the bridge between community residents and health care institutions and professional providers with a focus on enhancing emotional health, mental health and well-being while reducing risk for developing potentially serious mental health conditions and building protective factors.

    Qualifications:

    1. High School diploma preferred.
    2. Intermediate computer knowledge and experience working with word processing and data entry programs.
    3. Knowledge of community resources.
    4. Bilingual in Spanish is required.
    5. A valid California driver's license with less than two minor moving violations is required of staff who have driving duties to meet the requirements of their position and be approved by the agency's insurance company.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Develop Network of community based Promotores with an emphasis on the underserved/unserved, Latino community, who are at risk of or displaying serious mental illness.
    2. Plan and coordinate local activities and events related to prevention and well-being efforts.
    3. Utilize prevention strategies to promote stigma and discrimination reduction, suicide prevention, mental health awareness and well-being.
    4. Provide access, advocacy, resources and linkage to clients and their families.
    5. Provide outreach activities and services with a focus on mental health services and support.
    6. Interact productively within a multi-disciplinary team and other community organizations.
    7. Maintain record and tracking systems that meet standards of the agency, The Joint Commission and contract.
    8. Attend community events.

    Other:

    1. Attend all required meetings.
    2. Report any suspected child or dependent adult/elder abuse or neglect immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.
    3. Report any client imminent danger to self or to others or gravely disabled immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is unavailable.
    4. Other duties as assigned.
