SLR International Corporation is currently seeking an entry level Air Quality engineer located in either of our Houston-area offices. This position will primarily support clients with air quality permitting and compliance.
The successful candidate will work with a strong team of engineers and scientists to support the chemical manufacturing, petroleum refining, oil and gas, power, and other industrial sector clients.
This position offers room for growth and is designed for an individual looking to expand their skillset and learn the consulting business.
This full-time position requires an onsite presence at either our Houston or Tomball, Texas office and is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization.

Required Technical Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical a plus) or in other relevant technical science-related degree program
Zero to three years of experience providing Air Quality or Environmental support to chemical manufacturing, petroleum refining, oil & gas, and other industrial sectors
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in technical writing
Strong Microsoft Excel skills; proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
Valid driver's license and ability to occasionally travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel
Preferred Technical Skills and Experience
Air permitting experience including minor and/or synthetic minor construction permits, Title V
Air quality regulatory analysis (state regulations and federal Clean Air Act program standards)
Experience with Texas Air regulations and permitting

Review federal, state, and local regulations to identify applicable requirements governing the operation of air emission sources
Provide air quality permitting and regulatory compliance to support industrial clients
Analyze industrial processes and operations to quantify air pollutant emissions
Prepare calculations using spreadsheets, databases, third-party software, and process simulation software to quantify air pollutant emissions from industrial emission sources
Prepare air quality permit applications to obtain authorization to construct and operate air pollutant emission sources
Conduct field work for emissions monitoring and measurement, source characterization, or environmental sampling of various media
Conduct occasional field site visits to inventory air pollutant emission sources and collect data necessary to quantify emissions and assess compliance with air quality permit terms and regulations
Prepare proposals, reports, and other written deliverables
