    SAIC is seeking a Senior Action Officer to support the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense in Critical Technologies (PDASD(CT) within the Office of the Under Secretary for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) to support developing and maintaining work products that enable management decision making, strategy development, initiative definition, action tracking and monitoring, meeting and workshop planning and execution. Duties include, but not limited to: strategic and operational planning, communications problem solving, office infrastructure management, oversight of workflow management and prioritization, running of reporting processes, oversight of security and clearance processes, personnel and functional area synchronization, and provide decision support to achieve mission outcomes.

    Job Duties Include:

  • Develop and document frameworks for distilling complex issues and work functions into clear courses of action to support decision making.
  • Develop roadmap for process and systems modifications, upgrade and implementation that may be warranted to integrate audit requirements with effective and efficient administrative and operation processes of the office.
  • Track actions and tasks to timely closure; assist and escalate as needed when task owners fail to achieve timely closure.
  • Facilitate integrated project and initiative teams including meeting preparation, scheduling, execution and follow up.
  • Coordinate action and task assignment to responsible parties and establish completion dates.
  • Develop executive level status and summary briefings.
  • Develop planning artifacts including but not limited to statements of work, charters, schedules, and Gantt charts.
  • Decision support documents including business case analysis.
  • Internal control, budget, and finance advisory.
  • Gather information; articulate, analyze, and solve problems; visualize and present information; and provide decision support to achieve mission outcomes.
  • Create/manage communications for the enterprise, group, and individuals including meeting agendas, briefings, and meeting minutes.
  • Develop weekly reports on significant activities, report on the effectiveness of events and processes.
  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications*

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • A bachelor's degree with fifteen (15) years of relevant experience
  • Strong leadership, problem identification/resolution skills, flexibility, initiative, and a proven ability to work with Senior Executives efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent communication skills; experience writing white papers, briefings, correspondence, and reports
  • Exceptional organizational and teambuilding skills and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive experience in the Pentagon at OSD, Joint Staff, or other high-level organization

  • Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Understanding of JCIDS, PPBE process, POM cycle, CATMS/TMT or other tasking system, and Adaptive Acquisition Framework
  • Strong knowledge of OSD-level organizational structure and understanding of the National Defense Strategy and DoD Modernization areas
