    Responsibilities & Requirements:

    Job Summary

    Under the supervision of the Coding Manager, the Outpatient Coding Supervisor supports staff performance to achieve timely coding days and compliant quality standards. Participates in the hiring process and successful deployment of a remote work staff with onboarding and validated completion of new employee training. Participates in employee coaching and performance recognition through effective verbal and written communication and ESL rating assignments. The Supervisor role has direct reporting responsibility over OP Coding Team Leads and supports coder education needs providing governing body resources and software management updates. Staff schedules, equipment needs, and remote staff connectivity support are provided by the Supervisor. Other duties as assigned may take precedence to daily operational duties at times. This is a remote position that requires a HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) compliant home workspace, with onsite presence required at times assigned by the Manager of Coding.

    Skills

    • Excellent competency of ICD-10 CM and CPT classification systems.
    • Advanced knowledge of, but not limited to, Official Coding Guidelines and methodologies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills must be demonstrated.
    • Critical thinking skills aligned with the ability to self-manage projects and collaborate when necessary on data outcomes.
    • Proficient in data entry for Excel, Word, and shared document collaboration is preferred.
    • Experience with technical troubleshooting a personal computer and software used.
    • Experience with 3M 360 Encompass and Epic EMR is preferred.
    • Familiarity of adult teaching methods and capable of moderating to align with an individual need.
    • Excellent analytical ability to develop and analyze data to recommend solutions and solve complex problems.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Monitor and support timely coding productivity and ARMS program workflow demands.
    • Maintain resources for coder education.
    • Proficient and timely maintenance of staff T&A in UKG
    • Monitor updates and technical specifications of 3M software.
    • Monitor updates and technical specification of Epic updates.
    • Support Quality Assurance program needs
    • Conduct new employee onboarding session.
    • Partner in development of routine department meetings

    Requirements

    • Associate or Bachelor degree in Health Information Management preferred.
    • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification
    Preferred Qualifications:

    Work Experience

    • Minimum two years hospital or professional fee coding experience required.
    • Minimum one year supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
