    What You'll Work OnMAIN PURPOSE OF ROLEThis position will provide primary support to the Transfusion Medicine Global commercial field and leadership organizations through the delivery and evaluation of training programs targeted at improving employee performance.

    Will have a significant impact on the success of the Transfusion Medicine Commercial Organization by delivering accurate, relevant and engaging technical and developmental training that will be a driver of the Transfusion Medicine commercial organization being a "best in class" organization.

    Will interact regularly with Area Commercial Leaders and be accountable up to the senior leadership of Transfusion Medicine.
    Responsibility for the global sales training curricula as well as leadership development curricula.

    This role will regularly interact with area commercial DVPs and managing directors and will have dotted line oversight for training related area activities and roles.


    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for supporting divisional and corporate training strategies, and incorporating these into Transfusion Medicine specific training programs; achieve corporate, divisional and BU-specific training goals.
    • Implement existing, and develop improved tactics for the on boarding of new sales and commercial leaders personnel, with sustained learning objectives
    • Develop testing and evaluation procedures for the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
    • Research and propose effective learning solutions, suppliers and technology; develop and implement field commercial training programs. Create and establish innovative/ new ways to deliver training remotely using Augmented Reality or other new technologies
    • Learning Management System administration including new hire training, support product eLearning modules and global training user support. Ensure LMS records meet global compliance and audit-ready requirements for the IVD industry

    Training Content Creation:
    Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Training System.

    • Develop, Design, Implement and Maintain training programs for industry and product knowledge, as well as skills development, in collaboration with identified SMEs or third party experts. Develop training programs as needed for new product launches.
    • Develop, Design, Implement and Maintain "train the trainer" certification programs, including initial trainer competency and ongoing refresher and certification processes.
    • Plan, schedule, and complete training projects with a sense of urgency that is aligned with division objectives. Provide support in the development and measurement metrics that will guarantee a best in class commercial team.
    • Take risks to create new and innovative training methods to support effective Abbott Diagnostics product launches including continuing education programs.
    • Conduct business impact and ROI studies on the most critical learning programs that can measure and report the efficiencies, effectiveness, and impact of the L&D organization. Ensure training programs support division goals for business and market expansion, revenue growth and margin targets, and are cost effective.
    • Drive target timelines and remove challenges from direct team to drive business performance
    • Proactively support company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures and FDA regulations; include internal Quality and Regulatory compliance.

    Relationship Building:

    Develop and cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders including Scientific Affairs, Global Marketing, Sales Leaders and Frontline Sales people to develop training programs to improve performance globally.

    Through those relationships provide in depth training on the Division Products. Develop strong relationships with Area leadership, including oversight of Area and Affiliate training centers. Develop strong training partnerships with other BU's including CoreDX, Molecular, DHS and Hematology.

    • Provide comprehensive reports on all training and other pertinent department activity to assist executive management in strategic planning.
    • Communicate performance and report requirements to required organizations within the global region.
    Required QualificationsBachelors Degree ( 16 years)

    Major/Field of Study :
    Instructional Design, Education or Science – with Training Focus an advantageExperience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Instructional Design and Training, including managing Learning Management SystemsMinimum 5 years in a commercial capacity within a corporate environment, leading training / instructional design functions:Experience in managing cross functional teams an advantageExperience with Science / Medical Laboratory products an advantageInternational experience or managing global audiences an advantagePreferred Qualifications2nd language: Spanish proficiency preferred
