HCVT operates under a hybrid working model.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, employees are expected to work at their assigned office a minimum of two days per week.
In the event that this is not geographically reasonable, you may work in the office closest to your home. Additionally, we expect employees to participate in required firm events/meeting (e.g., trainings, team bonding, client meetings, etc.)As a Tax Manager with HCVT you will have the opportunity to provide valuable consulting and compliance services to entrepreneurial individuals and their businesses.
You will receive excellent training, and you will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the success of the office.
As a Manager in our Tax service line, you will be responsible for the following:Provide high-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and qualified federal tax credits
Build technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities, and applies them to client situations
Develop and maintain strong client relationship with key stakeholders and prospective clients
Work closely with clients to advise on income tax issues and tax planning
Responsible for meeting engagement timelines and budget guidelines
Provide job status updates to partners and client personnel in a timely manner
Work closely with and provide a leadership role to office staff and seniors
Oversee planning and scheduling of client engagements
Supervise expectations of engagement teams, project manager and maintain due dates
Develop Seniors and Staff to help them grow professionally
Research technical and complex tax issues
Manage, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to Seniors and Staff
Provide formal and informal feedback
Effectively utilize and train others on firm tax preparation software
Develop strong relationships with firm professionals and clients
Attend networking events and participate in staff and senior level trainings, recruiting events and firm activities
Ensure high quality of work product
To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:
5+ years of experience depending on relevant work experience
Bachelor's degree; Master's Degree in Taxation a plus
A licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent
Demonstrated management, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and resolve operational issues
Can learn, teach, and supervise in a fast-paced environment and is receptive to feedback and coaching
Ability to identify and propose resolutions to complex tax issues
Has a high level of attention to detail
Has a positive attitude and a team player mentality with a can-do spirit
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Proficiency in Thomas Reuters, GoSystem, ProSystems or equivalent is preferred
