VIDEOJET TECHNOLOGIES is a global leader in product identification providing innovative coding and marking solutions that helps customers ensure product safety and improve their productivity.

WITHIN YOUR TEAM

This engineer will work with the team to deliver VAVE projects for Videojet. They will collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and project managers, reporting directly to the manager of the VAVE function within Videojet. Participate in project reviews and Daily Management meetings with those in Wood Dale, with opportunities to interact with colleagues in China, UK, and Germany. This team spends 3-5 days per week in the office, due to the need for collaboration and lab testing, with flexibility to work remote 1-2 days if possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing organization. As a member of Videojet's Sustaining Engineering function, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) projects and programs for reliability and cost improvements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent engineering skills, leadership skills, the ability to problem-solve, a high-sense of urgency, and the aptitude to work effectively in a team environment.

WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Define and implement new ideas and technical solutions to drive product cost improvements
• Determine specifications and requirements of legacy components and sub-systems
• Verify project feasibility and define project roadmap to deliver the solution
• Translate requirements to test methods, and validate designs through the use of lab testing, analysis, and simulation tools
• Interact with manufacturing, procurement, tech support, as well as outside suppliers

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL WHO IS:

• Enthusiastic and passionate for delivering sophisticated projects
• Experienced with small-to-medium electromechanical industrial equipment. Experience with such components as stepper motors, power supplies, and/or LCD Displays is highly desired
• Skilled with several of the following: digital circuits, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout, microprocessors, control systems, FPGA, and electromechanical interfaces
• A problem solver with a sense of urgency and resourcefulness. Continuously looking for ways to improve project efficiency as measured by Quality, Delivery, and Cost
• Able to communicate project information (plans, results, conclusions) both verbally and visually
• Able to influence, make decisions, and encourage in a matrix organization

YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

• 5+ years' professional experience with Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline. Master's degree is a plus
• Engineering experience in product development or product maintenance of line
• An understanding of product compliance covering electronic and mechanical systems
• International travel up to 10% of the time could be required
