    Description

    Job Title: Special Security Officer

    The Security Services Department (SSD) is responsible for identifying and countering security threats to the Laboratory's mission of developing game-changing technology in support of national security.

    This includes protecting against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Physical Security: Oversees facility access control, construction and renovation, and develops security plans for these activities.
    • Materials Control & Accountability: Manages the creation, movement, and destruction of classified material and digital media.
    • Personnel Security: Facilitates indoctrinations and debriefings, maintains personnel files, and manages reporting requirements and external visits.
    • Security Education, Training and Awareness: Conducts annual training, facility access training, and Operations Security (OPSEC) awareness programs.
    • Risk Management: Investigates and documents security incidents and develops corrective actions.
    • Emergency Action Planning: Ensures compliance with operational security and emergency action plans.

    Requirements:

    • Security Compliance Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO), or Program Security Officer (PSO).
    • Regulatory Compliance Experience: Ability to read, understand, and apply government regulations, policies, and procedures (DoD SAP/SCI Community and Intelligence Community directives and manuals, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, applicable ICDs, etc.).
    • Education: Bachelor's degree or minimum of 3 years of work experience.
    • Computer Skills: Familiarity with security management software, such as SIMS and government databases like DISS (Defense Information Security System). Knowledge of business software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office.

    Clearance Requirements:

    • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
    • Active SCI access or previous SCI access within the past 18 months.
    • Successfully adjudicated counterintelligence scope polygraph within the last 4 years.
    • Will to undergo a government polygraph examination.

    Additional Requirements:

    • 100% onsite work requirement.
    • One-round Zoom interview with the hiring team.
    • Flexibility to respond to off-hours emergencies and local/overnight travel when needed.
