    Description
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for

    all .

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Our Technology Development (TD) ESD/Latch-up Design and Characterization team at Micron is seeking an experienced ESD Engineering Manager for our team.

You will develop ESD/LUP design solutions, experiments, test vehicles and characterization to enable best-in-class ESD and latch-up solutions in memory technology without compromising product performance needs.

As memory technology products are designed for very high-speed IO data rates, high-bandwidth memory, graphics (GDDR*), and multi-tier, stacked, vertical technologies, major innovations are needed to meet our product performance and reliability – including ESD solutions.

Logic technology to support these memory designs will be critical to enable products and integrated systems, including ASIC controllers for memory management.

This position will have a broad scope to build a high caliber team in TD R&D enable our needs today and into the future.

    Job Responsibilities
Develop a team of highly qualified and specialized engineers in ESD, latchup and associated reliability analysis areas.
Conduct ESD/LUP research and experiments to enable the best ESD and latch-up design and layout solutions.

Assess the fundamental ESD properties of each type of ESD circuit element by wafer level transmission line pulse (TLP) measurements to develop on-chip protection from ESD and or LUP events.

Develop ESD Design Rule and Guidelines to help assure adequate protection levels are available for new products to meet both internal and external customer qualification requirements.

Manage and coordinate full-chip ESD design review process (Schematic and Pathfinder analysis) for each design prior to tapeout.

Apply Pathfinder type ESD current density and resistance verification tool to ensure full die layout meet all ESD design rule requirements.

Manage and coordinate first silicon ESD and latch-up design validation tests and perform root cause ESD and LUP analysis, as necessary, to ensure that product meets Micron's minimum qualification requirements.

Continually improve product design and reliability by introducing innovative ESD designs.
Provide periodic updates to executives in the company, participate in steering committees related to ESD/LUP
Strong engagement with TD process development, process integration, device teams – as well as outside TD, design, product engineering, manufacturing, and global quality teams

    Successful candidates for will have:

Proven management experience in this area with good technical background, people, and project management skills in a large, global integrated device manufacturing (IDM) area – in either memory, logic (or both) industries.

A strong knowledge of advanced semiconductor device physics, including deep submicron CMOS devices.
A good understanding of innovative CMOS process technology and electrical circuit analysis.
Experience in EDA (electronic design automation) tools for design, layout, and verification.
Hands on experience in ESD characterization analysis using wafer level transmission line pulse (TLP) test equipment.
Experience waveform generators, oscilloscopes, source/measure units, Agilent and/or Keithley parametric analyzers/testers, and impedance analyzers.
Familiarity with ESD analysis tools like PERC or PathFinder or similar software tools.

Strong data analysis skills are required to extract the high current ESD properties and develop ESD/Latch-up design rules for critical ESD circuits.

Strong oral and written communication skills are needed to provide ESD/LUP technical leadership with diverse worldwide teams in Design, Product Engineering, R&D characterization, and Quality Assurance teams.

    Education & Industry:
