    Description

    4,000.00 Sign on bonus (one year exp. required)

    Position Overview:

    Provides Outpatient and Inpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) which encompasses a wide range of disease states and appropriate nutrition therapy using evidenced based guidelines when applicable. It includes the ability to assess patients of all ages, provide individualized nutrition intervention and education, and communicate with families, physicians and other caregivers.

    Essential Functions:

    · Promotes the mission, vision and values of Montrose Regional Health.

    · Collaborates and communicates nutrition and/or diabetes interventions and goals to other caregivers, providers, patients, and families to meet patient goals.


    Outpatient Services

    · Schedules outpatients, documents and bills per policy.

    · Assesses patient needs and provides MNT for a variety of diagnosis and ages

    · Provides diabetes education including glucose monitoring, insulin devices and pattern management.

    · Provides oncology services for radiation and chemotherapy patients (includes ordering and managing tube feeding)

    · Provides nutrition education for cardiac rehab, and other classes and support groups as needed.

    · Provides community nutrition and diabetes education classes


    Inpatient

    · Provides clinical dietitian coverage as needed

    · Assesses patient needs and provides MNT for patients of all ages. Needs to be able to, perform Nutrition Focus Physical Exams, and calculate parenteral and enteral needs.

    · Provides support to food service operations through education on diet and food safety issues, and collaboration/liason on inpatient needs.


    Projects

    · Supports the department and hospital in quality improvement and department projects

    · Assists director in developing or improving programs (ie. Telehealth, certified diabetes program, and oncology support, as well as in implementation of software programs).

    · Performs other duties as needed.


    Education and Work Experience:

    · BS or MS in Nutrition and Dietetics; RDN Registration required. No RD eligible applicants

    · One+ year experience in outpatient and clinical nutrition preferred.

    · Diabetes and Oncology experience essential. CDE and/or CSO certification desired.



    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:


    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position requires a flexible work schedule with the need to travel to offsite clinics and regional partners.

    Candidates must have one year of experience as a dietitian to qualify for the sign-on bonus.
