    Overview


    VNA Health Group is a premiere Medicare/Medicaid-certified provider of home health, hospice, and community-based services. We've been serving families and individuals with the most advanced and comprehensive clinical home care in NJ since 1912.

    We are currently looking for a Part TIme WIC Peer Counselor to join our team. The position would be responsible for promoting breastfeeding and providing basic breastfeeding education to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

    Responsibilities


  • Supports organization's mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
  • Delivers a high level of customer service to assure positive patient experience
  • Provides basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothers
  • Provides follow-up communication with all mothers in the caseload
  • Counsels WIC breastfeeding customers in the home, community, hospital, pediatric clinics or by phone as determined by the supervisor
  • Maintains accurate records of all client contacts and keeps all information confidential
  • Adheres to the organization's policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
  • Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position

    • Qualifications


  • Past or present breastfeeding experience
  • Experience with culturally diverse population
  • Must have completed the WIC Peer Counselor training
  • Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills

    • Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Busy clinic environment at various locations in the community, ability to transport and carry work related supplies
