    Overview


    As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day payroll operations for our employees across the organization using technologies for both pay and time while maintaining compliance with wage and hour regulatory reporting requirements.

    You will be responsible for processing the weekly and monthly payrolls for the company.

    In addition, you will use your payroll fundamentals and experience to work on transactions as simple as daily off-cycle check processing and data entry into payroll systems to more sophisticated activities, such as garnishment entry validation/calculations and time policy administration.

    You will work with cross functional teams who impact the payroll process through collaboration and support the drive for improvement through business process reviews or technical solutions.

    Your foundation in payroll concepts, HR, HR systems, time and attendance administration, Excel, data analysis, and metrics gathering are key to successful execution of this role.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • BS/BA with a concentration in Finance/Accounting.
    • 5+ years prior experience in a corporate payroll position.
    • Professional Certification CPP preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft applications. Must have advanced experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.
    • Experience with UKG payroll processing preferred
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
    • A self-motivated and inquisitive individual with strong organizational skills and attention to details.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task, deadline-driven environment.
    • Ability to work with people of various backgrounds, personality traits and levels of authority to accomplish department and Company goals.
    • Successful completion of pre-employment/promotion drug screen and or criminal background check. (Timeline must fall within Company guidelines.)

    Responsibilities

    The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the company.


    • Review, verify, and process payroll data for preparation of checks and direct deposits for the weekly, monthly, and off-cycle payrolls.
    • Review payroll reports from external payroll processing service (UKG) and bring any discrepancies to the attention of the Controller immediately.
    • Prepare payroll checks for distribution to Managers.
    • Submit 401k data to Transamerica and reconcile weekly withholding adjustments.
    • Reconcile Flex Spend accounts and Worker's Compensation accounts.
    • Reconcile paycheck discrepancies with department Managers.
    • Assist the Human Resources Department in maintaining payroll records, reports, and resolving discrepancies. Including Benefit Request Forms (BRF), Leave of Absences (LOA), new hires, and terminations.
    • Train, mentor and supervise the back-up position responsible for weekly payroll processing.
    • Maintain and file all weekly/monthly payroll documentation.
    • Prepare monthly payroll journal entries.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations of payroll accounts.
    • Administer the year-end production and distribution of Forms W-2.
    • Monitor payroll procedures and best practices to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, established guidelines, and internal controls
    • Participate, as needed, in the administration of the annual financial statement and 401(k) plan audits performed by the outside auditors.
    • Able to conduct yourself in a professional manner to reflect the high standards of the Company.
    • Perform all other duties as directed, developed, or assigned.
