Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Trailer and RV Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse range of recreational vehicles and trailers. You will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems—including plumbing, propane, and internal appliances—are in peak working condition for our customers.
- System Diagnostics: Inspect and troubleshoot complex issues in electrical (AC/DC), plumbing, hydraulic, and propane systems.
- Mechanical Repairs: Service and overhaul chassis components, including brakes, suspension systems, axles, and wheel bearings.
- Appliance Maintenance: Diagnose and repair RV-specific amenities such as furnaces, air conditioners, refrigerators, water heaters, and generators.
- Structural & Interior Work: Repair or replace exterior panels, roofing, and structural frame members, as well as interior cabinetry and flooring.
- Customer Interaction: Explain system operations to customers, provide repair estimates, and document all work performed in detailed service logs.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards, ensuring units are road-ready and compliant with DOT regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical program is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with carpentry, welding, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand or bend for extended periods.
- Driving Record: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Tools: Must possess a personal set of basic hand and power tools. ZipRecruiter +4
Preferred Certifications
- RVTI Certification: Level 1 (Inspection) through Level 4 (Master Technician) from the RV Technical Institute.
- Industry Credentials: Certifications from the RV Dealers Association (RVDA) or RV Industry Association (RVIA).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $39.16 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
