is a key member of our Sales team to support strategic clients in the Appalachia region. This is a bridge role from engineering into business development.

ResponsibilitiesTechnical Responsibilities:
Lead in development of innovative solutions to solve geohazard mitigation problems.
~75% of time focused on completing engineering tasks that support BD.Leads Engineering and Estimating (including Means and Methods) during PursuitDetermines needs for, and coordinates with PDE, additional site reconnaissance investigations to gather additional information, as needed (e.g.
2nd site visits)Serves as Design Manager of moderately to highly complex projectsDirects analysis, design, plan development, and submittal preparation for simple to complex projects, including managing and meeting deliverable schedulesCoordinates regular on-site visits during construction of simple to complex projects.Commercial Responsibilities:
Supports Project Development Engineer (PDE) in Region or client-sector in vetting potential projects (Go/No Go)Assists in Regional commercial strategy (pricing, funnel management, prospecting) including use of the CRM system.
Represent GSI externally through leadership in professional societies and at conferences through presentations and papersSupports PDEs and Regional Directors as Lead Engineer during meetings with customers and third-partiesQualifications
Experience & Qualifications
History of working with the Department of TransportationDemonstrated experience with slope stability and retaining wall designHistory of working with department of transportation.
Expert at reading and interpreting plans and specifications including USACE, DOT, FHWA.Experienced delivering successful projects including negotiated bids, hard bids, Unit Price, Lump Sum, and Force Account work.
Organizational skills, communication and people skills required. The ability to communicate with internal and external customers.Vast knowledge of geotechnical design methodologiesStrong written, oral, presentation and organizational skills.
Demonstrated initiative and leadership Skills.
Working knowledge of critical-path-method scheduling tools and project budgets.
Willingness to TravelRequirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering; advanced degree preferred.
PE and/or EIT licensureValid driver's license and clean driving record.
