- To investigate current production and quality problems, determine appropriate solutions and make recommendations for correction.
- To verify quality practices and product reliability both internally and externally.
- To conduct quality meetings with both operating and quality assurance personnel and initiate and monitor Statistical Process Control programs
- To assist operations and make recommendations which will increase production or reduce costs.
- To make recommendations for new or developed technology which will improve quality and/or be cost effective.
- To maintain appropriate records of programs and comprise technical reports pertaining to quality investigations and activities.
- To investigate causes of process failure and present findings to senior facility management.
- Participate in the suspension and operation of the labs to maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 lab standard.
- To establish, maintain, and monitor standard operating procedures.

Title: Metallurgist I, ProcessDepartment: EAF
Reports To: Manager, EAF Operations
Overview:
To establish, monitor and update current operating practices by reviewing the effect and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• BS in Metallurgy or related field
• Strong leadership ability
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Initiative to work under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years' experience in the steel industry.
• Knowledge of statistical quality control techniques.
• Advanced understanding of tests performed on steel.
Work authorization:
