    Description

    SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, the Laser Setup /Operator operates the laser to perform a variety of standardized work where procedures are prescribed to produce parts in conformance with specification.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
    • Setup, adjust, and operate computer controlled laser cutting machine
    • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines
    • Setup and adjust gauges to properly position parts during equipment operation
    • Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates in any combination of metric or decimal dimensions to hold tolerances
    • Quality inspection using a variety of precision measuring instruments
    • Use scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gauges
    • Sorting and packaging parts
    • Operates overhead crane while moving product
    • Maintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards
    • Other duties as assigned or required
    Position Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
    • Highly motivated self starter
    • Prior experience with Trumpf TruLaser 3530 and Trumpf Trumatic 600L preferred
    • Requires 6 months of relevant manufacturing experience
    • Strong reading, writing and math skills
    • Regular attendance is required; punctual, dependable
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
    • Interpersonal skills & friendly attitude
    • Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls
    • Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • Ability to work overtime or second shift when required
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
