    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Summary/Objective
    The Systems Engineer is responsible for managing the Company's computer networks and systems. The Systems Engineer will monitor and maintain computer systems and applications, troubleshoot and resolve system errors and inefficiencies, and proactively ensure that computer systems run smoothly and effectively. The Systems Engineer will additionally assist with IT Help Desk functions.
    Essential Functions

    • Analyzes network data and infrastructure to determine inefficiencies and problems.
    • Develops and designs network architecture and computer systems infrastructure.
    • Oversees the development, installation, configuration, and administration of computer systems.
    • Manages project timelines and documentation as well as with vendors and partners to ensure success.
    • Monitors computer systems and networks for viruses, malfunctions, and errors.
    • Troubleshoots technical issues and develops effective solutions.
    • Prepares network analytics, data reports, and operational manuals.
    • Trains the team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.
    • Stays abreast of the latest advancements in technology, protocols, and best practices.
    • Assists with IT Help Desk Functions as needed.
    • Stays up-to-date on security regulations as to ensure compliance as well as for certification upkeep when relevant.
    • Maintains knowledge of control objectives for position and department.
    • Responsible for identifying risks that threaten department and Company control objectives; reports risks/threats identified within area of responsibility to management and proposes mitigation plans or improvements.
    • Other job duties as assigned.
    Work Environment
    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners. After hours work may be required.
    Physical Demands/Requirements
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is in a stationary position operating computer and other office equipment. This role occasionally may lift up to 20 pounds.
    The employee in this position will frequently communicate with employees and clients, and must be able to do so clearly, effectively, and professionally.
    Some local travel within the metro Atlanta area is required.
    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday, and the employee is required to work an approved schedule that falls within the Company business hours of 8am-6pm.
    Required Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a similar field desired, but comparable work experience will be considered.
    • Microsoft, VMWare, CompTIAA+, or Network+ certification may be advantageous.
    • Prior experience as a Systems Engineer, 1-2 years preferred.
    • Strong familiarity with Active Directory and managing and patching all Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems.
    • Experience with Linux and Kubernetes preferred.
    • Familiarity and scripting skills with PowerShell.
    • Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP, IP, and OSI models.
    • Good familiarity with the following systems desirable: O365/Azure, VMWare, Citrix, SolarWinds. Knowledge of firewalls, endpoint security, and/or storage systems also a plus.
    • Good communication and leadership skills.
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
