    St. Paul Rheumatology is seeking a full-time experienced registered nurse, primarily at our Eagan clinic. The hours for this position are 7:30-4:00pm Monday-Thursday & 7:30a-12p Friday. This position will be primarily in Eagan, however coverage in Roseville will be required at times.

    Job Summary:

    As an Infusion Nurse at St. Paul Rheumatology, you will provide specialized infusion therapy to patients with rheumatological conditions. You will play a critical role in administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring patient safety during the infusion process. Your expertise in infusion techniques, strong clinical skills, and compassionate patient care will contribute to improving the quality of life for our patients.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Prepare and administer infusion therapies, including biologic medications, immunosuppressants, and other intravenous treatments, following established protocols and medication guidelines.
    2. Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after infusion therapy, observing for any adverse reactions or changes in patient condition.
    3. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the infusion process, potential side effects, and self-care measures.
    4. Ensure accurate documentation of all infusion-related activities, including medication administration, vital signs, and patient responses, in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    5. Monitor and maintain infusion equipment, including pumps, IV lines, and infusion sets, ensuring proper functioning and sterility.
    6. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients receiving infusion therapy.
    7. Respond to and manage any emergencies or adverse events that may occur during infusions, following established protocols and emergency procedures.
    8. Adhere to infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene, aseptic technique, and safe disposal of sharps and medical waste.
    9. Stay updated with current research, best practices, and advancements in infusion therapy, participating in continuing education activities to maintain clinical competence.
    10. Maintain a compassionate and supportive environment for patients, addressing their concerns and providing emotional support during infusion therapy.
    Requirements:
    1. Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred, but an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) may be considered.
    3. 3 year of experience in infusion therapy or a related field.
    4. Certification in infusion therapy (e.g., CRNI) is highly desirable.
    5. Strong knowledge of rheumatological conditions, infusion therapy techniques, and medications commonly used in rheumatology.
    6. Proficient in venipuncture and IV catheter insertion, with the ability to access and manage ports.
    7. Excellent assessment and critical-thinking skills to recognize and respond to potential complications during infusion therapy.
    8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
    9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
    10. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software.
