    Job Summary

    The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a complex, multi-site LAN/WAN environment delivering highly available and scalable networking solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, be able to hit the ground running, experienced in WiFi design and management as well as experience with a variety of networking equipment. Candidate will be well versed in networking best practices and have a "security first" mindset.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor network performance, identify and troubleshoot network issues, and restore network functionality
    • Subject matter expert for all things networking, including top-tier support level for the District
    • Plan and implement network infrastructure changes
    • Perform preventive maintenance on network equipment
    • Respond to network complaints, issues, and outages
    • Research and adapt new networking technologies
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
    • Provide technical support to users and other IT staff

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer
    • Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent certifications required.
    • Real life experience with enterprise networking, various hardware vendors, Wi-Fi
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Hands-on experience with any of the following:

    • Cisco 9300, Nexus, Juniper EX2200/4300
    • Aruba Wi-Fi, Extreme Wi-Fi
    • SolarWinds
    • Virtualization
    • Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS)
    • Working knowledge of VoIP communications and functionality on Cisco telephony systems.
